Volunteer
We need people who can:
- Drive people to appointments, meetings and admission.
- Phone or visit services to confirm hours and details for our Kingston services guide.
- Keep books, write, or fix things.
- Put together fresh-start kits of household basics for people moving on.
Email ronsummers706@gmail.com with what you can offer and when you are free.
Advisory circle
If you have recently been through detox and treatment, we want your input. The advisory circle meets once a month. It shapes the house rules, the app, and what we ask funders for. It is the first seat at the table for changing how the system works.
Board
Our organization is being incorporated as an Ontario not-for-profit. We are looking for directors who bring finance and bookkeeping, housing or social services experience, or lived experience of recovery. Email us if you are interested.
Landlords
We are looking for a house in Kingston: four or five bedrooms, a shared kitchen, close to transit, recovery meetings and services.
Here is how the relationship works:
- One professional point of contact.
- A written house agreement with every resident.
- Maintenance requests, move-in and move-out condition records, and rent records kept in writing and shared with you.
- Someone on site or on call around the clock.
- A lease signed only once funding is confirmed, by the incorporated organization.
If you have a house that might fit, email us.
Give
Money. We cannot accept donations until our organization is incorporated and has a bank account. We are not a registered charity, so we cannot issue tax receipts. We will update this page when that changes.
Things. Furniture, kitchen items and household basics help people start over. Email us before you drop anything off, so we can say what is needed.
